Briss and Tom invited me to capture their intimate backyard wedding at Briss’s parents’ house on the golf course. I love shooting intimate events and elopements! The day felt very personal and was laid back while still elegant. Tom’s family traveled from New Zealand for the event, which was extra special! I love shooting intimate events and elopements!
Kaitlin with Avant Garden handled the florals and coordination for the day. The house gave dark and moody vibes, which were great for capturing Tom getting ready and portraits of the couple in the study later in the day. I love the dramatic lighting and the dark wood. The greenery and white flowers were the perfect touch for the dark space.
The couple got ready separately and saved their first look for the altar. Briss had her dad walk her down the aisle while family and friends sat at tables around the backyard. There was a very casual feel and a sense of closeness with two families coming together.
After some posed shots with family, we headed out to take some portraits of the bride and groom. Briss wore an elegant white dress with a dramatic slit that created a lot of movement in our photos. Tom’s hat was a fun prop to capture some unique moments between the couple. Some of my favorite photos have to be the moody ones we captured in the study before the reception. I love the dramatic look!
The guests spent the rest of the intimate backyard wedding enjoying delicious food from Two Knives Catering, dancing, laughing, and singing karaoke together. What a fun activity during the reception! Briss and Tom ended the evening with a bubble send off.
