I can’t wait for you to see this Boho Mountain Top Wedding! Tucked away in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains sits the tiny village of Red River. Wild daisies cover the mountain side, the Red River runs through town, and the air is crisp and clean. As a Palo Duro Canyon elopement photographer, I don’t often get to sneak up into the mountains, so this break from the desert heat was incredibly welcome!

While still only friends, Adam invited Bobby Jo to join him for a weekend trip, on the way through the pass she told him how much she loved daisies and the mountain wildflowers.  The first morning they were there, Adam woke up early and left the cabin, Bobby Jo didn’t know where he went, and she fell back asleep later to be woken by her phone ringing, and on it, was a single daisy.  Bobby Jo told me this story the day of her wedding, as she showed me the delicate daisies painted on her fingernails, and said it was the kindest gift she had ever received, and by it she knew that he was different, she explained how Adam’s gentle thoughtfulness is what made her fall so in love with him.

When they began planning their wedding, exchanging vows at the top of Red River Ski Area, surrounded by their nearest and dearest was an easy choice for them. Bobby Jo’s dress was something out of a dream, and her lovely bouquet mimicked the mountain wildflowers, seeming like it belonged right along side of them while the ribbons flowed freely, dancing in the wind.

The day was easy and calm, sweet baby Luka napped while everyone got ready. The weather changed quickly, from blazing hot to the threat of a monsoon, wicked winds swept over the peaks right after their ceremony, but only a few raindrops fell.  As the family loaded onto the ski lift to head to an amazing local Italian restaurant, Capos, the three of us, along with Miranda with Feels like Film braved the winds and frolicked in tall grass overlooking Red River.  I kid you not, tears rolled down my face while taking these photos, it was out of this world.

As the storm rolled in, we headed back into town, indulged in some of my most favorite Italian food, cut the cake, and made a few toasts. After the formalities, I convinced them to grab a few more photos, this time in the middle of Main Street!  The sun broke through the clouds, and every passerby honked and cheered.  Adam+Bobby Jo truly have a love worth celebrating, and I can’t wait for you to catch every moment from this boho mountain top wedding!
