The romantic colors and textures of this Boho Prairie Wedding were the perfect backdrop for Jake and Taylor’s heartfelt celebration. I met Taylor when we were only 16 years old. She instantly included me in her well-established group of friends and made me feel like I’d belonged there for ages. In the 14 years since then, I haven’t stopped admiring the way she handles herself in hard situations, and always goes out of her way to make people feel special. Taylor has been a guiding star as we’ve both become mothers — and with a son as sweet as hers, she’s the kind of mom you want to take advice from!
Jake is the kind of man that old westerns were written about. Having grown up on the 6666 ranch, he’s a tried and true cowboy. Quiet by nature, gentle and loving to Taylor, he’s still got a rowdy side that comes out when the other cowboys show up.
As a Palo Duro Canyon Elopement Photographer, it’s always so refreshing to photograph a wedding where the love flows freely and the stress of the day doesn’t matter! I don’t want to even admit how many tears I shed as Taylor and her son did their first look, as she shared first dances with the men who helped raise her, and how the couple honored the bride’s late father.
Old friends hugged and laughed, while they joined the new friends in celebration at a beautiful venue in Amarillo, Texas. Family from all over the country came to town and made sure this Boho Prairie Wedding was one to remember! Scroll down to catch all the sweet moments, and don’t miss the newlyweds walking hand in hand into a prairie sunset.
